Parent Perspective:  1. Most parents will want to use the instructions on the lower half of this page to receive a basic idea of how online work is accomplished.  2. After viewing the sample system, parents should have their child academically diagnosed to find gaps in learning and where the student should be placed in curriculum.  3. The parent should then fill out an online application for enrollment.  A diagnostic login will be provided within 24-48 hours if you did not complete the diagnostic testing before applying.  SEA provides additional support, features, and experience that make this school a bargain compared to most other homeschool programs that have only been in existence a year or two! Still not sure? Please look at our short overview of our school!

            1. Sample Online System: Thank you for your request for your student(s) to complete the online test drive. Use the instructions below to look at components of the online curriculum.  It is highly beneficial to  take the time to view (and try) some sample lessons (some lessons may already be completed by other parents today).  The online curriculum is available for 3rd grade and higher.  We have excellent booklet options for Preschool through 2nd grade, which do not need a diagnostic test, then students can transition to the online curriculum at 3rd grade.  If you would like to have a student complete an average days lesson plan, have them work 1 or 2 lessons in all five subjects.  Samples of the Preschool through 2nd grade paper curriculum.  Parents using a satellite or dial up will not be able to use the online program, but air cards with broadband should work.  Otherwise, the CD curriculum should be selected.

             2. Diagnostic Overview:  After you have viewed the online version of our curriculum using the instructions below, please complete the diagnostic testing request form with your child's name and grade level to receive a free Custom Academic Placement from our Diagnostic Tests. You may complete the diagnostic work before applying, otherwise it will be the first student task after we receive your application.  You will be given a web link for diagnostic testing and issued a login.  The student will begin with the first assigned test and continue each test section until your student is having difficulty continuing.  Often the first levels will seem rather easy.  This is to build confidence for the student to do well at higher levels.  This also helps determine if there are gaps in the student's learning and where to place the student in our curriculum.  This will usually not affect grade level status. Some questions will be graded by our teachers but, the computer will grade most answers. You may view your student's test online by simply e-mailing kthompson@aopse.com when your student(s) finishes, and we will assign you a parent/teacher user name and password.

             3. Enrollment: Parents should fill out an online application for enrollment, pay the Registration Fee, and setup tuition payments.  Parents of 3rd grade and higher students often consider the online curriculum.  Students in high school should follow the instructions to deliver their record release form to their previous school immediately.  At this point, you will receive information for your child to begin work along with other necessary information.
