Schoolhouse for our CD curriculum program. SOS is a comprehensive, Biblically based curriculum that offers
computer-based learning for grades 3-12. It
features 3-D animation and cutting edge
multimedia. Students finish lessons by completing various questions,
activities, and quizzes, all through a CD-Rom program.
Low
Tuition:
CD
curriculum requires a yearly payment structure because the full
year's curriculum is shipped. Tuition includes curriculum
fees for five core subjects, achievement test, and academic
advisor support. Additional subjects $150 each.

The
curriculum is written on the principle of "mastery learning."
This means that students truly master the content and skills of one unit before progressing
to the next. Different students learn at different speeds, thus
mastery learning ensures success by allowing each student to spend as
much time as necessary in one subject area prior to moving
on.
Most of the
grading is automatic so parents only have to grade
subjective questions. Parents and students can leave messages for one
another and parents may find their work cut in half with the record
keeping and lesson planning features. SOS offers much flexibility so
that you can customize learning to fit students’ educational needs.
Students are guided through the lessons at their own pace, giving them
the chance to master concepts before moving on to more challenging
lessons. There are approximately 130 lessons per subject. Five core
subjects — Bible, Language Arts, Math, History & Geography, and
Science — are available for grades 3-12. A number of electives are
also available such as Health, Spanish, and Consumer Math.
One
advantage of the online method versus the CD curriculum: With our
Online Academy, occasional subjective scoring is handled by our
teachers. With CD curriculum, the parent handles the subjective
scoring.

for Using Switched-On Schoolhouse
Our
online, CD, and LIFEPAC curriculums are stand-alone programs and can be
used individually. However, some students use LIFEPACs for a few
subjects and CD or online for others. Please see our Combination
